1999 f350 7.3 srw 4x4 my speedometer stopped working where is the sensor. ive replaced the vss on the rear axle, no change. speedo shoots to 40 mph and stays there
Are you sure you seated it fully? and the connections were good & clean? I'm not sure where any other sensor might be, but I'd try getting the rear wheels off the ground, hook a DVM up to the VSS sensor, and then put it in gear and rev it up a little. See if you're getting some variable voltage or current. Check for a pinched/nicked/broken wire too.
