Is moving the latch the only fabrication that you have to do to install these.?

Driver's side hinge swap on the truck and adjust the latch posts if needed.
Yep that's it.

And swap your lock cylinder for the one that comes on the gate.

Very nice, Ive been thinking about getting an 08 tailgate for my truck too, cheapest price is around 600 here that I can find.

You dont do anything with the latches, all you have to change is the left side hinge. Even all the hardware in the tailgate will swap directly over except for the handle and top plastic moulding.

Wow, looks like $700 is pricey!!! I'm not surprised though - while there are a ton of big trucks rolling around CO, everyone seems to think their spare parts are lined with platinum.

Here's an example:

FORD RUBBER ON RIMS

Forget about finding a junkyard deal either - all the big trucks that are wrecked get snatched up quick by specialty yards. They wanted $300 for used towing mirrors. I got brand new ones for that price, thank you very much!!

Good luck with finding a white tailgate!

And yes, please, let's see some full-truck pics with the new tailgate & bumper!!

Rear bumpers are direct bolt on.

These 08 rear bumpers arent as tough as the older style, thats my only gripe with them. I already caved mine in on the driver side hitting a little cedar tree. Im thinking I need a ranch-hand in the rear!
