Is Ford going to come out with any SVT trucks? Like the Lightning in the past
The demand ain't there for these kind of trucks anymore. 90% of buyers are now are buying the truck for what it was designed for instead of just image. There is still a few image buyers about but with the price of fuel and the way the economy is there just ain't enough interest. After market bolt on's look like the only option for now.
i do wish they would though. i'm almost in a position where i could buy one.
For the discount you can get a 08 for atm it would be very cost eeffective to mod a brandnew truck to a good 500bhp for less than the truck would have been at full price.
They had that long travel suspension truck that was supposed to be badged as an svt truck, don't know whats come of it now that people realize how bad the economy really is
Would be cool to see the return of the Lightning again. I am very pleased with my 2003 Lightning (Black) and clean like it was when it came off the floor. I have added a few mods that realy make a difference. This truck rolls like nobody's business.
I purchased the truck from a US Marshall that took emaculant care of her. Every detail of maintenace was documented and ahead of the recomended schedule.
I have added the folowing:
1) K&N Cold air intake
2) Maganaflow Exhaust
3) Super Charger Pully
4) Diablo Chip
5) The biggest throttle body out there
6) Bed Rug bed liner
7) Bug deflector for hood
8)Tinted windows
Future plans:
1) Shorty Headers
2) Bassini mid pipes w/ high flow cat
3) Next set of NITTO 295/ZR45/18" Extreme 555 tires
4) Lower Pully's
5) Ram air hood (functional)
No one is really marketing a niche truck right now other than the '09 Cabella Superduty. I wouldn't really call that niche, I would call it a very expensive SD.
The '04-'08's just had that body that looked good as a Rousch, a Harley or any damned thig it wanted to be. The '09's, I'm not real sure yet.
