I saw a few old tractors for sale at an auction in North Dakota on Friday. Couple of McCormick - Deerings, some with narrow track front wheels, some with the widest track front wheels I have seen. An interesting old Fordson with a Selecta-drive or something - transmission. Looked like it had two levers and a wheel box...sort of like the system they show in old movies about old ocean going ships. I think one was for mph, the other for engine speed. Maybe wrong.

Any farmers know how it works ?

All the old stuff is so very interesting but the one your great grandfather bought new just has to be extra special with the family connection behind it.

Man thats alot of tractors!

My grandpa bought a lanz bulldog and my uncle still has that out at his farm. Thats one of the ones I would like to get out here and paint up to make it look like original. It still runs really well and everything.

my chalmers made it to the fall fair, couldnt really drive it around, have it in the shop now, gotta tear down, water pump needs to be redone, it dried out sitting all that time, check valve aint working, no oil pressure, carb was rebuilt but i think i need a replacment, its just way too corroded and i need to readjust the rear wheels and do more wiring. But it is shiny. My fords are kinda blah, one is running, havnt had time to fart around with the other one, been looking at a John Deere if the price is decent. Been working on my Buick whenever I can as its deadline is coming up soon. Got it sandblasted, one damn solid car so im happy with that. and work itself is crazy so its really hard to find project time. uugh. I need to retire.
