Auto is what would be termed a "switchblade". You push a button and the blade comes out on its own, powered by a spring.

A semi operates on a torsion bar. you have to use the thumb stud to push the blade out just a little, then the torsion bar takes over and opens it the rest of the way. I guess a better term would be "assisted opening".

I don't know why there is a difference but one is illegal (in some ways) the other is not.

That would be nice to have, when your other hand is full, and you need your knife. I think one of the guys here at work has one of the assist blades. I know it was a very expensive knife, in the range of $170.

Look through here, you can find some good deals.

Knives

But yeah, I spend a lot of money on knives when I buy them. The one that Steve purchased is a great knife.

Thanks... Love my truck. Yeah, Black = Not best choice but, I don't regret it at all. Just sped extra $$$ and install remote starter and all is well.

My avatar has been on here for a while. I've been a member of this board for several years. Just never posted much. Eddie.. YES.. Iron Maiden... Not soo much.

Oh yeah.. Got it used from Cross Country Auto Sales on Coors near the Cottonwood mall. I rolled in in my 05 F150 CC Lariat 4x4 (LOVED THAT TRUCK) with absolutely NO intentions on buying. Drove out in my F350 and traded in my F150 and my 04 Harley Road King. OUCH!!!

As far as knives... I've got a few.

Had an old school Ka Bar. Loved that knife. Since I was in the Marines... I had to have one. When stationed in Cali, managed to pick up a 10" blade SOG. Someone stole that one from me. Pissed me off. Now I have a Gerber BMF, Kershaw assisted open pocket knife, Gerber Gator (old school) a Suicide blade swithchblade and a few other odds and ends around. Had an AK47 Bayonette from Iraq for a while. My X's uncle gave it to me. I gave it to his nephiew after my D.
