stiff steering....
I'm looking at buying a 92 f150, took it for a test drive and everything felt good except for the steering, it felt really stiff and unresponsive, kinda sloppy,it felt like it took a long time to turn. could it just be a bad steering box? does it sound easily fixable? the truck has 146k on it. any thoughts?

Most anything is fixable. Have someone shake the steering wheel back & fourth while you watch all the steering components, look at the steering shaft joints too. Turn the tires all the way in either direction & reach in to the axle u jounts & see if the axles turn free, if they don't a u joint is froze up. Jack it up & shake the tires, put a bar under the front tires & lift up, see if there is any play in the ball joints. If everything looks good then I'd look into the box/pump.
