Hi, An 05 PSD and I was wondering if it needs any kind of additives (perhaps from kragen or so http://www.partsamerica.com/ProductList.aspx?CategoryCode=3231) to help it run a little better but mostly keep all the internal components running smoothly and clean? We leave in the SF Bayarea so we don’t have any cold related problems, although a few times a year we will use it to go snowboarding(any suggestion for cold weather additives as well?) We usually fill up with Chevron diesel…that somehow it’s the cheapest in the area…if that makes a difference Thanks
when you goto taho stop at the bottom Donner Pass at a truck stop, not the mom and pop place, and fill up there. Truck stops in the northern area, where temp are bellow freezing, will shift to a winter blend therefore additives are not necessary. but if you stay up in those freezing areas and you shut your truck off for long periods of times, i.e. cabin overnights or longer an additive is a must to prevent gelling of fuel. i would carry tools and a couple of fuel filters in case your fuel does gel up. as for anti gelling i use howes anti gelling fuel additive in my 18 wheeler. but for a day trip you should have no troubles
