I didnt know where to post this so i just figured this was the place.
I have delt with 4wheelparts.com acouple times and im totally not liking them right now, they run different deals on there web-site and different ones in there adds.
First i order a WARN reciever shackle bracet and they sent me an off brand one and they wouldnt pay for the shipping back to them to get a refund so i just kept it,Its ok but i didnt like it much at all.
Second was with my tires,They were running a deal where you buy 3 Pro-Comp tires and get the 4th for free well i orderd and they said they would be sent out the next day well i realised i would rather have 31" tires on rims so i called back about 1hr later and asked if i could cancel my order and place an order for even more money and they stated that the tires are on the docks and that i couldnt cancel my order they said it was too late even though it hadnt left the docks yet,Well i was kinda mad but i lived with it,They should be able to cancel an order if it hasnt left yet.
Third was with my Hi-Lift jack i went online and they said that there was free shipping,So i called up to order and seen that when you order you get free Hi-Lift mounts so they said ok and told me shipping is 29.00 and i just wouldnt do it even though i was getting free mounts i couldnt pay that much for shipping so i went online and it ended up they wanted 15.00 for handleing wich is just stupid because i know how they pack stuff,So i orderd from summit and got the jack for over 20.00 less than at 4wheelparts and with just a 7.00 shipping charge.
Last my neighbor orderd a skyjacker lift and recieved an off brand one that was so cheap he had to send it back and pay shipping back to them it just dosnt make sence how this place makes it so hard,I know that some people have had good luck with them but this is stupid and needless to say they wont get any more ov my money again,O plus they are way rood even of your order is for over 1000.00
I have always had bad luck so please let me know if anyone has had bad luck with these people yet either.
I called about a CF DF 12" clutch and when I drove over to order it, I was getting different answers. Each time I would ask for a 'complete set' which is the only way center force sells them and I kept getting prices for pressure plate only, which was the price quoted over the phone, then a 'if you want the disc too...'
I bought from jegs and saved money and hassle.
I got a price from the web for 2 gals of Herculiner and called them and asked for a price match, they said yes and when I went over there they didn't want to match the price because they wanted to add shipping. I finally said what the total price was, and they finally agreed but this was after 15 min of back-n-forth.
I have had some good luck with some salesmen over there but mostly just poor or ok.
some years ago i ordered a pair of hella 10" 100 watt lites and waited 2 months to get a set of 8" no name brand 50 watt lites that were listed as $30 cheaper then what i paid.after fighting for a refund i paid to ship them back and wait again for the lites i found later at half the price not even including the shipping and reshipping!
my buddy ordered a top end kit (carb, manifold and cam)for his jeep from them and got back a really nice kit,if he had a small block chevy which he didnt.
i only order now through jegs,summit,p.a.w. or right from the source.
its cheaper and easier.
A few years ago I ordered a lift kit from them. They charged me and it never showed up. It took me forever to get them to credit me the charge. I will never order from them again. I have never heard of anyone having a good experience with them. Support your local four wheel drive center. Thier prices are higher but they will usually take better care of you. Plus they often put in a lot of trail maitnance in your area. At least that is the case here. Just my two cents. Thanks.
I ordered some 38.5 tsl's becasue they would give me free shipping but what they forget to tell you is that they add massive handling fees. Plus it was supposed to take less than a week which it didnt and i was supposed to get a package deal because i bought the rims also. I was supposed to get new chrome lugnuts, center caps, free videos and all which never showed up. I had to continuously call back and argue with them which i refuse to do anymore. Summit works well, i am very happy with there business. 4 wheelparts just makes it hard.
ive heard of a lot of people ordering stuff from them and not getting the right parts. they have great tech stuff and know what they are talking about and have some decent prices but they just dont ship right.
You guys are scareing me.I go later this afternoon to pick up my truck at4WPW.I had them install my lift and tires, but only because it was FREE.Although I am not new to this trucking stuff, your posts will keep me on my toes!!I will get back to all of you later and let you know all the details and experiences I have with them, be it good or bad. Hopefully all good
ED
i gave up on 4wp a long time ago cause they are just plain a-holes, its rare for an order to go without a problem there, i just do all my 4wd buissness with national tire and wheel, they are closer anyway
To sum up the service and business practices of 4 Wheel Parts, THEY SUCK!!! I haven't had a single good experience with them and neither have any of my friends. From charging more than they quoted over the phone, to charging to take back the wrong parts they sent you, to sending the three 32 inch tires and then one 31 inch and then sending the wrong offset rims and taking three weeks to do this instead of less than a week like they promised. Always a complete disappointment, I will NEVER do business with them again and would not suggest it to anyone else.
I too, have had some wierd dealins with them. I noticed one time that their magazine add said FREE mounting, balancing, lug nuts, centercaps, shipping, blah blah blah.....for wheel & tire packages, but if you add up the advertised price for 4 tires and 4 wheels, you get a completely different price than what the package sells for. Sometimes it is lower, sometimes it is MUCH higher. I e-mailed them to ask why, and from the sales and customer service departments, all I got was a reply telling me what a great deal it was. I e-mailed Rick Pewe (Editor of 4Wheel & Offroad Magazine) copies of all the letters. I figured a guy in his position might have some kind of idea or be able to find out, but he just said it was "interesting". I guess I should've known he couldn't really say much, they do run 4 page ads in the magazine every month, so it wouldn't do to **** them off.
I ordered my skyjacker brake lines from them. My rear end was in the driveway all hanging and i found out the hard way that i needed a rear one..not just the fronts. So i called them for rush delievery and it took them to long..so i called them up and they offered to ship it for free.that it went out and they will refund my shipping...got them the next day and everything was fine but never refunded my shipping after calling them so i gave up.

One of my buds took his Ranger there to get lifted. He did a lot of work to it, 6" lift, rear springs, coils, shocks, radius arms, new rear end gears, locker, wheels and tires, and all things related to such a high lift, pittman, brake lines, etc. Dropped about $4500 on it all. He's had many problems since. He's chewed up many front hubs because the axels back out when articulating. Had to have an expensive 1 piece driveshaft installed because of eating up U joints. Had to rip up his fenders to make room for tires to clear. He's been back to 4 wheel parts numerous times for his mods failing, or for just plain shoddy work done on it. When he picks it up, they tell him it's been tested and works good. He then takes it to a lot near the store that has some minor hills in it, and he finds out that his front end won't lock, or it has some serious vibration, or some other crap. Granted, he should have known some of the problems that he'd run into, but bottom line is that 4wheel parts smelled a good sale. Some of the things done to his Ranger just seem like a bad marriage. In my opinion, the sales people at 4wheel parts should know what works and doesn't work when they are selling you 4 or 5K worth of modifications. If 33's are going to tear up on your fenders, maybe you should tell your customer that. If the articulation is so extreme now that your hubs are toast, or your driveline is going to need to be upgraded at additional cost, it would be good to share that with your customer also.
i recently ordered a skyjacker leveling kit for my f150 as well as camber brushings. the guy who did my order obviously had no idea what he was doing because he only sent me 1 camber brushing well i guess i cant complain because i called back and told them my mind so they sent me another one for free so 2 for 60 bucks, usual price would be 120 for two
My dealing with them must be a rarity, then. My experience was very good.I ordered a 2" body lift kit&lift lips from them a week ago,and I got the correct parts I ordered just when they said they would get here-May 21st.
