This could be a bearing problem, a ball joint problem, and it could also be just a spring bushing, or a shackle bushing.
You will really have to narrow down, and isolate where the slop is.
Keep in mind that all of the fasteners should be tight. Verify that an individual leaf has not broken and caused the u-bolts to lose tension.
These trucks are old, and the spring bushings will require some help. Replacement is not tough, but will require some patience.
Where are my manners?
Welcome to the FTE site!!!!
I believe that I do have some bad bushings. Anecdotally, as I was going to work the other morning I noticed that I didn’t experience the normal vibrations when taking off from a stop. Our weather has cooled off greatly and the temp outside was around 40F. I have noticed this repeatedly on cold mornings. So I think that it stiffens up the rubber/urethane.
Now all I need is to find a money tree so I can fix up my truck.
Thanks again bud!
