Best Reciever hitch lock?

Well I had to cut my receiver hitch lock off the other day with a die-grinder! Doh! It had been a long long time since I needed to remove it, and the little plastic cover had been gone from it since I don't know when......it was completely rusted, and seized up inside, tried gobz of WD-40 and no luck. I think mine was a Fulton? Not exactly sure of the brand.....and I know this isn't exactly 7.3 related....but you guys are my bro's. What brand do you use? I don't want to use just the cotter-pin, too easy to steal my 8" drop hitch! Thanks!

Travis,

Get one that has a cap that seals well, stays put, and won't get lost.

I don't really have any suggestions. I have the one by Fulton also. The rubber cap is still on mine, but its still rusted solid. Luckily I just haven't needed to take it off yet.

I want to say this is the one I have but it looks a little different. I got into the habit of hitting mine with wd-40 everytime I check tire pressure, keeps it nice and lubed. I have a nice adjustable hitch as well and I'm sure someone would love to steal it...

Fill that dust cap with grease and never worry about not opening it again,

I've been using the Master Lock hitch/trailer set for 6 years now. Stainless body, brass guts and the dust covers stay on well. 3 of those years were in WA where everything is damp most of the year. No problems so far.

My 118 lb German Shepherd in the truck bed has been doing good in combination with a regular hitch pin.

Actually I second the SS Master Lock one. Been using it since 1999 and never a problem. The key is what Daleper mentioned in his post... the dust and moisture covers fit good and do their job at keeping the lock functional for easy removal if switching between different reciever bars.

thanks for the input guys.......I've never been able to find one that the cover wouldn't fall off. When I'm out 4wheelin they always seem to fall off somewhere. Maybe I'll try the Master lock one this time
