ok im looking for a 6" front 4" rear lift kit with rear springs so i was browsing around and i found rough country who has them for less than 900 everyone else is over 1100, i know you get what you pay for but i was wondering if anyone runs them and if they are cheap or not?
Its true, you get what you pay for but some of that is just because they're like the name brands you know?
I've seen plenty of rigs run rough country and never had problems. I don't think your going to have some catastrophic leaf spring failure killing millions if you go with rough country.
Your in the clear.
And if you do end up having catastrophic leaf spring failure killing millions, you can't blame me.
Ive heard mixed things about rough country... I would say go for it, you could be gettin sale price, just cause the want to move the product...
I am curious as to why your going with a 6 front 4 rear lift?
Care to explain why? If you go 4 front 6 rear, you can ditch the rear lift block and even the trucks rake out and best of all ditch the rear block!!!!
ya pretty much just to level it out without forking over $130 for two little spacers haha the only problem with paying the extra is... well paying the extra im still in school so i only work parttime i make like $300 a paycheck and half of that is gas
We put a RC 4" on my buddy's 95. He loves it. After 4 years, it has held up great, but he mostly drives it on the street. Theres a few pics in my "others" gallery.
These questions are really better answered by your budget. The RC is decent quality for not too much $$. Others will be more. Why not do a SAS with coilovers
why when i can just get 4" rear springs and 6" front spings and be done with it...i havent considered shackle flips and probably not anyway...and i havent even looked at sas enough to even knoe what it is so thats where im at haha
sas= solid axle swap, ditch the ttb front end, which is not wheeler friendly. Im saying ditch the rear lift block, because lift blocks=axle wrap. Its something i would do if i were in your shoes,
ttb?my brain is in granny gear and cant process these damned abbreviations....i got the ford 8.8 in the rear and a dana in the front cant remember which though? haha are you talkin like ifs type **** or what
ok so i got the ttb thing but what axle should i do for an sas ill probably do that when i do the lift so basically youre saying for a good setup i should do a 6 susp. lift and ditch the blocks and do sas...now the problem again what does this kinda thing cost?
It really depends on your mechanical ability, and how well you scrounge parts. You could "probably" get a 5 lug D44 with radius arms for $100 off craigslist. With any luck, you will have 3.55 gears, and find one with the same. Only about 1,000,000,000 ford halftons had this ratio.
