hard steering with breaks app.
2001 F-350. Hard steering off center noise like air going through steering asst. When you hit the brakes you losse most steering asst.Has a new P/S pump and have checked all front end joint all ok any ideas

Also, this was reported in the earlier SD's that were gas powered.
My '01, if I'm sitting still with my foot on the brakes, it's pretty hard to turn the steering wheel. Been that way since brand-new.
One of these days, I'm going to put full synthetic in the PS and see what happens.
