Fuel filling problem
I bought a used 2005 f250 V10 and when I fill it with gas, from empty, it gets to about 15 gallons and starts shutting off the pump as if it were full. Gauge registers 1/2 way mark after words.
I really have not had a chance to take a crack at this so was wondering if someone may have some quick advice.
First, if it is a bad sender or gauge, how would I know it is really empty other than running it dry (bad for injectors)
Second, could it be a vent issue? If so, is there an easy fix?
I'll run through the shop manuals later this week, but for know work is keeping me away from this.
Thanks.

Also, I tried the search function first and didn't come up with much (or at least didn't look that hard)
Hope this works.
P.S. Do TSB's only apply to vehicles under warranty or do they cover the life of the vehicle. I have a feeling with 98,000 miles on mine I am going to need to cash in on this one.
They are for the techs to know how to approach an issue.
They have NOTHING to do with warranty. SOMETIMES, there is a "program" (basically a silent recall) that covers things like that. The only way I know of finding out is going to the dealer and asking. Nicely
