I have found anouther site that advertises to be able to provide info to folks with trucks (and vans, for some reason) to make some decent money by transporting basicly all types of trailers from state to state WITH real possibilities of backhauls unlike the places out in Indiana that want you to deliver their trailers to dealers throughout the US and Canada then deadhead back.
I sent this outfit I found $19.00 to see what they had to offer, anyone else know anything about this:$100/hr. with Your Pickup or Van ??
I would email the guy first and find out a LOT more info before handing him over the credit card digits. Backhauls are the problem with transport. My cousin made a decent living doing it for a couple years.......but you sometimes have to either drive home empty, or wait a couple days for the backhaul. Tough decision......
Reminds me of the "Just send us $2,000 so we can get your $100,000 sent to you". Looks like someone cut and pasted an email into the page template. If it pans out, let us know. I guess it could be a good deal. Just remember insurance, etc too.
well just scanning threw the page i wouldent go there for one thing whenever you haul anything for hire you are regulated by the dot this applys to pickups/vans/suv's whatever your putting cargo on or in. for another thing as already mentioned if they wanted you to come work for them then you wouldent have to pay. and there is alot more start up cost than one would think to haul for hire. here is a company somone i was talking to the other day at a truck stop works for Quality Drive Away who said he is getting between 2.50-3.50 a mile of course i dont know if he was b/sing me or not he also said he can pick and choose what loads he wants to take and what ones he does not. another thing i dont know what the people in that site that you posting think you are going to make per mile but $100 an hour? how fast do you think somone can drive. and you gotta calculate fuel cost matinace witch will be much higher than normal due to the increased strain on just about every part of your truck. as well as a place to sleep every night figure 45-60 a night for a cheep motel room as pickups dont have sleepers. the cost of $1mill liability and $10k cargo insurance at a minimum
also he states that last year alone he gave away thousands of miles of loads, well 1 load can easily be 1000 miles so how meany loads is he realy giving away according to himself
Yea, I am questioning this guy's truck too....gas motor with small flag style mirrors!! I sent him a money order for $19.00 with absolutely no link to my bank or cc accounts, so we'll see what his response is...I wrote him a note and told him right in it that I was skeptical and asked how he or anyone could get around the DOT laws......and how a person could make $100.00 per hour doing this?
