I have a 79 F-150 4x4 (C-6,NP 205, Dana 44 front, 9 in. out back). My question is when I lock the hubs in and go to turn the wheel sharp it makes a clunking noise. The truck sat for about 2 years before I got it a year ago. And my dad who was the orignal owner said it never made that noise before. I was wondering if maybe some one had an idea of what it is. Thanks for any help.
Could have a frozen or stuck U-joint in the front. Check those out and also, in 4x4 mode, it's not sopose to turn as far as in 2wd mode but you probably know that.
