temp sensor wire/plug??

How do I remove the plug from the temp sensor on my '99 7.3?? & would it be advisable to replace the sender/sensor as I replace the water pump??

I wouldn't replace it unless it was giving you a false reading. Was the gauge not working?

Everything is working fine, I am replacing my water pump and will have to remove the sender/sensor from the old pump and install into the new one anyway, so I thought it might be smart pm if I just got a new one??
I can't seem to figure out how to get the plug-on connector off of it though.
Any suggestions?? Thanks!

Squeeze (push in) the clip on the side of the connector while pulling up.

OK, Thanks, I got it off!! I think I'm going to just get a new sender/sensor and be done with it.....no sense not replacing it while I'm in there and it will save me having to remove the old one from the old pump.
