I have new f-50 4x4 crewcab diesel, has 703 miles on it so far, drives like a dream. However it sounds as if I have a cricket behind the passenger side rear seat, sounds like a chirping noise, i mentioned this to a f-250 owner at the diesel pump and he said have the dealership tighten the bed bolts. Does anyone have experience with this sound? it does not chirp all the time. Any Ideas?
Don't pay the dealership to tighten them. It would be cheaper to buy an electric impact wrench and a T50 bit.
And it won't work. I have the same squeak in the back seat, and I've pulled all the bed bolts and put them back in and it's still there. I think it's something in the seat itself or in the back of the cab, but I don't want to mess with the cab bolts
I have been driving with the rear passenger seat folded down and the cricket noise seems to be less audible, but its still there. Will the raid spray also shin up my leather! LOL, gotta keep the sense of humor.
check your running board bolts, tighten the hell outa them. I had the same/simmiliar noise on my last truck, didnt have it on the new truck, put running bpards on, All of a sudden, the noise it back, got back under there, cranked on em, noise is gone
I crawled under the truck yesterday and tightened all the bolts on the step rails, however later that day the chirps or crickets were still present. whats odd is I was off road on a dirt path lots of uneven surfaces, no crickets, get back on regular road and crickets came back. Looks like there is a jack assembly behind the rear seat I am wondering if a piece is loose and touching another?
