Sometimes I have a hard time getting my truck to go in and out of 4lo. My buddy has a toyota tacoma and it was stuck yesterday and it took me a few minutes to get into 4lo he was stuck good. Well it finally went it but took me 15 minutes to get it out. I went in a truck pull back in august and it took me like a hour to get it out. You think this might have caused it. I guess I cant be completly upset cause my buddies toyota has stock rear differental and it wouldnt engage and his 4 wheel drive wouldnt mind it only has 40000 miles on it. Figures when you buy foreign lol. But I dont know what to do about my truck. It goes in now but it takes a few seconds which I dont remeber it before taking that long. But never really used it much. Should I worry or am I just worrying way to much. Thanks guys
Sounds like your t-case shift motor is starting to die. I doubt it was caused by a truck pull, but those kind of things put an enormous strain on EVERYTHING in the driveline...and it certainly wasn't made for that kind of abuse!!!

I think it's kind of funny you mention reliability of foreign trucks when your own 4x4 isn't working..........
place truck in neutral or park...and be completely stopped
1. Shift to 4x4 hi
2. Wait until light on dash says 4x4 hi is engaged
3. Shift to 4x4 lo
4. Should feel a "thunk" and see the dash light up
How are you shifting to 4x4lo? Same as above? or just throwing the switch to the 4x4lo position?
Not saying it's you, but alot of people have no idea on how to shift into 4x4lo. They just assume you put the switch to the "4x4lo" position and it'll magically happen. Give that stuff above a try.
Well I stop put it in N and shift it to 4lo. It use to go some what quick. But yesterday I put it in N went to 4 hi then was like no I will put it in 4 lo and it didnt do anything so I put it back in 4 hi and backed up put it in N and tried 4 lo and it worked. Samething trying to get it out but no dice. Finally came out. Someone said go in reverse and hit the brakes will the selector is in 2 wd. Well at least my 4 wheel drive works still lol his was in 4 lo and made this horrible beeping sound like someone left the keys or lights on in their truck and the differental locker wouldnt engage. So even when it was suppose to be in 4 wheel it was only a one wheel wonder. I still had 4 wheel.
