My ford 98/150 brake light is stuck on.I pulled the wheels off
and the brakes look fine. The fluid level is fine. The only thing that it might be is that the brake cable is not tight enough?
Any ideas? Thanks Jim150
jim,
do you mean the abs light on the dash?
or the rear brake lights?...if it's the rear..then check under the dash where the brake pedal arm is and see if a switch is there and if it can be re-adjusted
If you mean the little red light on the dash that indicates your park brake is applied, then I think I what the problem is. If you locate the limit switch on the park brake lever under the dash, you may find that the little rubber snubber that the switch contacts when the p-brake is released is missing. Pull off the left kick panel and look around closely, you'll likely find the missing piece. (I've seen this many times.... kinda chintzy design, always re-install the snubber with adhesive)
Just to let you know that I have the same problem with my parking brake light and I will certainly try looking for the rubber snubber as suggested. Thanks for the advice!
