Fram Air Hog

Have any of yall tried the Fram Air Hog drop in filter for the 7.3? I thought I would try it until I could afford a new intake...just wondering if it was any good. It seems like I remember reading some posts about the K & N that were not very favorable. Just wanting some input...also...what intake would yall recommend when the finances permit?

If money is an issue, just run the 6637 mod. Most people around here are running it. It's inexpensive and works well. There isn't any oil to worry about and the paper filters better than a gauze filter. Then you can start saving up for your next mod. Here's a link to a post with the basic instructions.

I think if you read on the air hog filters, they are not recommended for dirty or severe conditions. The way they increase flow is by decreasing filtering efficiency.

It's your engine, but I personally would pass on the air hog for any of my engines.

Until you get the cold air intake, 6637 or anything else, just get the Motorcraft drop in.
