I'll check out the muffler video's for a sound taste; I'm leaning towards either cherry bombs or turbo's. 2.5" straight out the rear.
Thanks for the post guys.
My town isn't to harsh on noise type issue unless your being stupid and then they stack up the tickets. Beside most of the police I know & work along side with them.

I did part of mine in 2.5" because the pipe was free. I agree with UTF about 2.25" pipe, but personally I'm not sure if I see much of a difference on my truck from when it had 2.25" pipe. My tailpipes are 2.25" pipe.

I'm not so sure I agree that the size of pipe will make any performance issues, 'Funny cars' don't even have tailpipes, do you think any of them have performance problems because of exhaust size?

Put 3-4" exhaust on a stock motor and you'll see the difference LOL. 'Funny cars' are way different

Funny cars don't have to be too concerned about exhaust scavenging with that huge supercarger stuffing air and fuel into the cylinders.

I don't see too much differences in 2 1/4 or 2 1/2 on the truck, and Ben (UTFball68) since you mention it, I'll probably go with 2 1/4, just because it is / what is standard on the truck now, I guess i got 2 1/2 in my head due to my 65 with a 302 motor. That's probably why I posted that size.

I have true dual 2 1/4 from the manifolds through flowmasters dumped in front of the back axle sounds good can be loud if you want but still quiet enough to talk in the cab. I use to be a die hard glass pack guy but you got to have at least one rig with flows on it.

too bad youre not closer, i have a mildly built 300 im trying to get rid of, offy intake, dual headers. milled head BB chev rockers, and a cam. askin 650

As far as pipe size goes... i would run 2.25 at VERY most... then go with 3" tips or something.

"
dak, 44" glasspacks!!!!! you know that the shorter the louder right? I thought my friend's 26" cherry bomb was about as big as they get."

Dr.Dirt,
Yes, the shorter the louder. But I use my truck mainly for camping and folks really hate that in the campground! Besides I really love the low rumble of the 44"rs.
