Hey Fellas! My name's Zach, I'm from Sioux Falls originally, but now live in Rapid City and attend SDSMT for mechanical engineering. Bought my first ford last year (a 90 ford f250) which I fixed up and traded off for a 77 highboy. Always wanted a truck with that setup (351/4speed/4x4 with disc breaks, manual everything, and straight axles.) Only problem is the box is unsavable with all it's rust, so now I'm on the search for a 57-66 ford truck with a good body so I can do a swap. Happy to be a part of FTE!
Howdy Zach! Welcome to the SD chapter! Any chance of finding a replacement box for that 77? Love those trucks as that's what my dad had and I learned to drive in one.
I kinda doubt it on the replacement. I'll never find one rust free up here, and to pay 400+ for one that still needs a bunch of work doesn't make a lot of sense to me. Besides, my fiance is in love with the 57-60 fords, and wants one with some patina to it. Any my dad has had a slick since before he met my mom, so I am really partial to those. So i figured one of us could have the truck we want, with one of the best 4x4 systems Ford offered to boot.

Howdy Dan! Welcome to the South Dakota Chapter! If you get a chance, stop in the monthly BS/Chat thread.
Thanks for the add Rob. I live in Yankton and will be picking up my 77 F150 in March, bought from a friend in Portland. Not perfect but rust free for the most part.
Howdy Shawn! Thanks for the intro and the photos. Love that 77! Looks really clean too. I had a 78 when I lived in Montana a few years ago and it was completely rust free. That Mustang is cool too, rarely see any of that body style around.
There is lots of great info on FTE in the tech threads. If you run into any trouble finding what you need, speak up. Lots of knowledgeable guys around here.
Hey Shawn! Glad you got the old truck home without too much trouble. I had a blast driving my 70 F250 from Montana to Omaha a few years back... it never missed a beat.
Hello. My name is Geoff Tufty...GTT78 and thanks for the welcome. I live in Sioux Falls. I am restoring a 1978 F150 4x2 Ranger to original. Long process as you all know but fun. I also have a 1979 LTD and a 1986 F150 that are original and complete.

Then we will be in the same general area once I move back to brookings for college this year!
