its done! installed the c.v (1989) front end to my 55 ford this weekend, took 11 hours of bull work but it came out quite well, frame of the crown vic is a bit wider than the truck, cut the truck frame in an angle and a small section of the top so it would fit into the c.v clip, welded both bottom and top clips together, then i cut a pie shape out of the top and bottom c.v clip, heated and folded the sides of the frame so it would lign up with the truck frame, welded both frames together, did some re-incorcing on the insides of the frames, fish plated both sides of the frame while heating up the material so it would flow with both frames, capped the top and bottom plates and done!! just have to cut the front of the frame and finish that part up (see my gallery for pics)
Looks pretty good. I think the stuff from a heavier car like CV will work better if you are going for a big block engine. I'm curious, how much did it change the tracking width?
It looks like your garage is in a steel mill. I could use a building like that.
yes its a well built front end to use especially for 460`s! if i remember correctly is around 68 in tire to tire, will check tonight, fits well under the fenders!
there's a guy local to me that raves on his CVic clip.
speaking of, I need to get in touch with him...
clip looks good man. hope you stay happy with it.

thanks guys! yes the clip did get me lowered in the front quite a bit (approx 4- 5 in), will now more when the engine is installed, probably going to bag the front and back to get it even lower!
Looking at your gallery that brings back memories from the summer of 03 when the clip was going on my truck. Now if you run that 460 you will have fabricate your mounts on the frame. The biggest engine that went from the factory was a 351. DEFINITELY Keep me posted. Especially let me know how she floats down the road.
