Hello... I need some info on making the dashboard look good without spending a lot of money. The previous owner glued this black fuzzy fabric stuff on it that looks like crap, over a blue velvet job thats just as bad. Don't know what's underneath the blue stuff, but it can't be good ! Where should I start ? I'm scarred of doing more harm than good... If that's even possible, it's pretty bad . HELP!!!
I got pretty lucky; I found a used dash pad in perfect shape and the right color from eBay for about $60 including shipping. There's a difference between dash pads and dash covers - dash pads are the entire piece, whereas a cover is something you put over an existing dash pad to cover it up.
You could always go to a fabric store and get something to cover the old pad. I took a cracked pad out of an old truck for free and took some $5.00 auto carpet and covered it. Eventually, the carpet may fade since I used black, but for a total of $5.00, it made a worthless dash pad into something that looks pretty decent.
My Truck says, -Thanks everybody!!Wow,what a difference. I could have removed that nasty thing years ago. Every time I got in my Truck, its the 1st thing I'd see and I hated it ... Thank-You*Thank-You*Thank-You!!!!!!!!! *Wendy*
