OK 1st problem 90 F20 auto 5.7L. When I give the truck a bit too much throttle the trans make some screaming noise and I get virtually no extra forward motion. I assume this means the trany is slipping. What are my options? As a side note after hitting some bad washboard on a gravel road it fixed the problem and then again on some washboard it started the problem again. 2nd issue is the hood release in the cab came disconnected from the cable that operates the release. How do I fix that? Also can I open the hood without the release in the cab? Please any suggestions and the cheaper the better will be greatly appreciated.
OK Now that I am done being a smart aleck. When was the last time you checked your tranny fluid or changed the tranny filter?
As for the hood, If you can reach the release with a pair of pliers then yes you can open the hood. You may have to replace the handle and or the cable. pull your release handle off and see if it is broken or if the cable just came off it.
OK so yeah F250 5.8L sorry drunk post. Will tranny fluid make that much difference? I have not check the levels in a least a year though I only put about 400km on the truck last year. Will check that, thanks.
