Howdy folks! Allow me to introduce myself. I am Bill DeGaine. I am a major F-100 enthusiast, have been since I was just a little kid! I finally got the opportunity to be an owner back in 1996. Bought a piece of junk effie and turned it into a gem with lot of work and help from a lot of friends. I have five years memberhip accumulated in Pickups Limited in the now defunct Desert Pass Chapter. Who knows, maybe we'll resurrect that chapter one day! I really enjoy driving long distance with other f100's. Just like a good friend calls it...."looks like a bunch a skittles going down the road". What I really love is getting all the thumbs up! Coming home from the Corn Feed run this year, I was passing two busses full of Marines on their way back to 29 Palms. By the time I was next to them, at least a dozen of our boys were hanging out the windows waving at me and cheering. So I opened up my electric header dumps and revved my 427 stroker like I was in an open heder contest.....they loved it and went wild! Made me feel good to bring a little joy to their hearts. Iif it were'nt for them, we wouldn't have the freedom to enjoy our wonderful hobby. Thanks to all our servicemen, past and present. You all are my heroes! Keep up the good fight!

Hi Bill, what a great story about your Effie! I`m a real big Effie fan ever since Dad`s 53. It`s great that you`ve turned your`s into a gem, I`m still working on my latest two, a 53 & 56 M100`s with lots to do.
I don`t blame the Marines for waving and cheering as I would too! Just the sight of the Effie would do it for me plus the open headers with the sound of the 427 stroker, like awesome and WOW!
I agree about our servicemen, the American, Canadian and their allies are all heroes in the fight for our freedom!
Be sure to join your local CA chapter soon, meet some great folks there too: Western Region - Ford Truck Enthusiasts Forums
