ive started to redo the brake system on my 52 all new lines run and new mastercyl. i am just having trouble finding front brake drums at a good price...all the resto mags want 100-115 bucks where as i can get the back ones at napa for 50. does anyone know of a front drum that will work on the front of my truck that would be listed for a newer truck? or one that i could use without changing much..
I got my front drums at Joblot auto JobLot Automotive for $68.5 each. Not much cheaper than that out there
Yes Mr. John Smith Jr. is correct.
Those 51/52 front drums are unique because of the 1/2 inch offset. Back ones are the same as the 53-56s (+).
When I had to replace my front brake drum after "the wheel loss incident" I shopped around and called just about everyone. I looked for a modern day substitute. It seems Joblot sells to everyone else who marks up to boot.
I paid the $68, and shipping from them (in New Jersey) to California was $15. I had it in three days.
Napa carries the back drums by the way. Your master cylinder kit is a Raybsetos MK100 - Kragen $16.99. Kragen also carries new wheel cylinders for $30 or so.
