Hey Bill I tried to use the ftepartsguy's site to find this but not having a lot of luck navigating that site.
FE dizzy mounting gasket part #
Not a single local parts house has one in stock (special order) they can get it if I go there and pay first. WTH? the gas to get there is more than the part. Jesus!!
Hey Bill I tried to use the ftepartsguy's site to find this but not having a lot of luck navigating that site. Nothing is listed prior to 1984 or so.
Contacting Ed (FTEpartsguy) won't help either, because he has no parts catalogs prior to 1980.
When he needs part numbers for anything before 1980, guess who he contacts?
FE dizzy mounting gasket part # B8A12143A (Motorcraft DZ1)
Not a single local parts house has one in stock (special order) they can get it if I go there and pay first. WTH? the gas to get there is more than the part. Jesus!!
All list it as (FPG 13069)
There are actually two FE dizzy mounting gaskets.
Both are O-rings, one is 3 times as thick as the other.
I listed the correct number above. It's the thinner of the two.
Save gasoline: Call Green Sales = 800-543-4959, they have 8.
You can pay with a CC.
Ask them to mail it in an ordinary envelope, and write HAND CANCEL ONLY on the front of it.
Or...call Walt at Walts Automotive in Santa Ana, he works on all sorts of old piles. Ask him where he would get one locally.
You might try Engler Bros Auto Parts in Santa Monica, but that means driving the *** **** 405 freeway to get there!
Dunno if Engler will mail it to you or not.
Bill's Auto Repair on Maple Street in Orange might have one in stock. Bill is a (FE) nut.
Bill does a lotta work for SoCal Galaxie Club members. Most of us have FE engines in our Galaxies, so...
Sopp Ford on Alameda Street in LA has one in stock, they're the only CA dealer that carries it...it's still available from Ford.
Costa Mesa Ford says the parts obsolete(since 83), no new # in system for it.
CACA del TORO! He's full or it, los cabron b*astardo!
Give me the idiot partsmans name, I'll call up the cluck and let him have it.
I just typed the ** Ford part number into the ** Ford dealers part locator system...it's still a good ** number.
EVERY Ford dealer in the US is on that same system...every ** one.
Here's another klewless lazy jerk, really p!sses me off!
He never looked, Bob...he just shined you on. There's no way...no way at all he could possibly know that this or any part went obsolete in 1983.
Call the idiot back and give him this: B8A12143A...ask him since the ** number is still shown as GOOD on the locator system, how the Hell can it be obsolete?
Didn't ask his name, but I gave him the part # from the start to save the song and dance of going through years of FE powered vehicles as you know damn good and well they'll make you do just for the **** of it. Bored SOB's he'll I can get it through Kragen/AutoZone just have to swing by there on the way home $2.49 and pick it up Friday is all.
I could here the guy clicking the keyboard as I rattled off the #, but who knows LOL... could have been surfing **** ?

Bob, there are two different ones. What part number did you give him?
B8A12143A is still a good number, and its correct for your application. Its fits all the V8's from 1965 thru 1979, mebbe later, I didn't bother looking.
The other dizzy gasket that fits some FE's is B9TF12143A.
I just typed that number into the locator, guess what?
It's also still available! The only CA dealer that has one is in Oxnard.
B8A12143A no reason to get pissed Bill, the world will go around whether we're thrilled about it or not. Life's too short for that kinda crap. At least I know what dealer has one in stock now Oxnard .... maybe a fishing trip is in order HAHAHA Have a glass of ice and enjoy the afternoon Bill it's just another day

There are two of these FE dizzy gaskets...
Sopp Ford on Alameda St in LA has B8A12143A, which is the correct one for your application.
The dealer in Oxnard has the other one: B9TF12143A, this is the wrong one for your application.
The point I'm making is, both these FE dizzy gaskets are still available from Ford (unlike what that azzwipe told you). Both fit lots of other engines.
btw Bob: I'm going fishing, for obsolete parts, "sporting goods" and a few other things, that is.
Saturday we leave for Utah, also gonna visit MT, WY and ID.
Will the one from a FelPro gasket set work for you?
John
Yeah I have one in the ROL gasket set for the 390 just it's sealed so I didn't want to break it open yet. Hell there is one on the dizzy with the Xri module on it that is new from the 352 rebuild. I just figured, hey got 4 blocks her now maybe an extra grommet or two would be a good thing LOL
