Expedition consoles
Does anyone know if the expedition console was changed between 1997 and 2001? I ask as the front seats lost their arm rest so was the console changed to compensate for the loss of the arm rest (possibly the console got taller or wider?).

I THINK that the center console was changed for the 2000 model year, which is the year of my Expedition. The center console was made wider, at the same time as center armrests were taken away. In any case, my 2000 has the wider console, and no center armrests, and I seem to recall that this represented a change from the previous model year.

You are correct. My 1999 Expedition had the narrow center console with the arm rests. I have since replaced the seats and console from a 2000 Expedition. It is nice to have the extra room in the console.
