Every now and then, I'll deal with a crack-head or meth-head and, just for the hell of it, pull up all of their arrest photos over the previous months and years. With some of the females, it's pretty GD sad. The first arrests might show a young, attractive female.....and later ones.....where the girl might still be in her mid 20s.....will show bad skin, bad teeth, you name it. A total waste, and again...sad.
Better than,,,Who are you? And who let you into my bedroom?
Oh,,,I quit on Nov 30th,1988,,,I remember it well,,,last day of hunting season,,I grabbed a beer and said,,this will be the last beer I ever drink. Both my Dad and my Brother said,,,yeah right,,,,But I did it!
Dont drink, stopped at age 30,bad experience in a Wendys fast food line up,had a dress on wouldnt go to the bathroom inside...yep it wasnt too pleasant.Everyone should try sober it works for me...now !!! Have a great Sunday everyone.
Some times the school of hard knocks is the only thing that works. I grew up in an age where it was perfectly normal to grab a six pack, smokes or chew, and a pint to get to the dance with, I never got in trouble at least with the law that much except to tell me I needed to go home now and no more detours or I would get thrown in for the night.
I' am very lucky when I look back that I did not hurt or kill someone, I cannot say that I had much to do with it as when I went to one of those dances by the time it was over I couldn't hit the ground with my hat by then if I tried. The running joke at the time was if you couldn't walk it was time to drive home.
These dances took place out in the country some many miles from any where at Grange halls, backwoods bars, and yes even barns after which I would load up in my outfit and start for home some times with another person that would join in with and help me drive but most always wound up sliding off of the seat onto the floor to pass out within a few short miles if that.
There was a lot of times I drove home found my way into the house and if lucky all the way to the bed on the first try, not wake up later and continue on only to face the next day and unexsplained damage to the outfit, dents, headlight missing, mirrors gone, and such. I would be at a loss to know, I could not remember the drive home and had to hear second hand stories of how much fun I had the night before only after the freight train inside my brai n slowed down and finnaly stopped till the next time.
This stuff was a laugh a minute but the reality of it is and was that good people got hooked and faught yet the the biggest battle that they would never admit to and mostly lost, so went jobs, homes, marriages, and even their own life.
I use to drink a lot. Most everyday. Started with beer and occasional shot. Then it went to shots with an occasional beer. Had to quite when I got the diabetes. Don't miss it much. Would rather be healthy and sober than hungover and sick. Not a bad choice.
