Just wanted to say hello to the folks on this forum.
I just became the proud new owner of a 66 and a 68.
These are my first early broncos so you will probably hear alot of questions from me, please be patient.
Oh yeah, can anyone tell me how to open a link so I can show off the pics?
The 66 is still the six banger. The 68 is a 289. I still haven't decided what to do with them. I paid for them 3 weeks ago and can't find a way to get them home. My sister's expedition blew a rod so I don't have anything to haul them with. I have a suspended license (Pedestrian) or I'd drive them, nobody I know can drive a three on the tree. I feel like a kid who got grounded from his favorite toy.
wow
how soon we forget how vehicles were built years ago( 3 sp on col.)
i see people walk to up to the model T at shows and become mystified at the pedals and levers.
the T was the highest production vehcile in the world ( i think) maybe the f series caught up and the VW may have passed it...
7300 model T's were built the day mine was...and... now...no one remembers how to drive them.
Welcome, understand your pain. I'm on a restricted liscense. If they're fairly close, a local garage w/ a rollback are usually pretty reasonable. I had one delivered for $50. The money you're saving on gas could get them home and give you something to do.
Not sure what's involved in a model T, did they still have the belt transmission? I remember an old MG with manual timing advance on the dash, non synchro trans, couple other things going on. Watching my friend drive was just a flurry of activity. Now people can't even parallel park themselves.
Well I lined up a truck for the weekend, now hopefully u-haul will have a car hauler available.
I thought about the tow truck option but it is a little more involved than just picking up the trucks. Spare motors, trannys, tires, front clip etc. At two seperate locations about 50 miles from me.
I'll keep you guys informed.
Still having trouble uploading pictures. Any hints?
