Downpipe question

Hey fellers,
I've got a buddy with a 97, and he is too cheap to buy a round downpipe. I just put a 4" on my 99. I'm wondering if the stock round dp off my truck would fit his?
Thanks

I'm sure it can be made to fit but I'm not sure it will be worth all the work involved. All it takes is a chop saw and welder, you'll have to use the turbo flange off his old dowmpipe to mate your pipe to his turbo and then a bunch of trial and error fitting to get all the right bends to clear the firewall, uppipes, transmission and join the rest of the exhaust.

I hear it can be done, but it's a heck of a lot of work.

Yup anything can be done like that but is it worth the work? That all depends on how good of a friend heis. Yes you will have to use his turbo flange. Also good luck fitting it in there in one piece. Good luck if you try it. I would just get him to oredr the DP.

Huck,
There may be a chance that I will have the DP from mine. I am putting a different one on this weekend. We need to get together sometime.

I may have a few things. AFE Stage II intake, DP, a slightly used DMF aka Boat Anchor and several other odds and ends. I will probably keep my stock turbo though.
