electrical question

i noticed on some of the 70s style trucks that the gasoline engines could come with a dual battery setup. does anybody have or happen to know where i could view a wiring diagram that incorporates this second battery?

in a haynes or chilton repair manual... number dummy might post one up for ya too. All it is, are the two batteries are run in a parallel curciut. if i may ask... why would you want another battery?

on trucks that i had seen the second battery was separate from the main battery. the second battery supplied power to the accessories like lights, radio, wipers etc. and the first battery only ran the starter. this way if you left your lights on and drained the second battery you could still start with the first battery.

And, there's a starter solenoid (or big relay) in between the two batteries that is energized with the ignition key, so that the second battery charges when the engine is running.
