Factory HP/TQ #s

I was wondering what the power numbers are for my engine. 1974' F-100 June 74' build all stock 302 2bbl with 4spd no cats or emmissins crap from factory.

I have an origional copy of the sales brochure however they don't mention any power numbers.

Thanks.

My stock '73 302-2BBL is rated @ 138 HP, 228 FT/LB TORQUE. Should be close for '74. No cats.

NOPE, that's about all that they had all thru the 70's and early 80's.
Very little HP and just a little more torque. They drove pretty well to be so weak.

The first 302HO in the 82 GT Mustang only had 157HP.

Isn't that partially because they changed the way they measured HP?

they underated cars back in the day for insurance reasons.. but our trucks are smog motors to definition... no compression and a cam the size of what you would find in a 4-banger. 400 come with like a 345cfm carb factory too. that might help put into perspective how de-tuned our engines are. New engines are about 95% volumetrically efficient... ours are like 45%. Thats why you can throw a couple hundered at our old engines and see so much of a difference.
