ford and cummins

ford and cummins

ok i dont wont any one to bite my head off but one time i heared that ford designed the cummins engine that dodge is using

Im not a diesel expert but hear is a shot at an answer.
No they didn't and it wouldn't make since for them to have done so, International diesgs there motors and have since had a falling out and ford is going to let them go and design an inhouse diesel. That roomer got started because ford owned some stock in cummins for a while and has since sold it, i read that on ford Cummings but it looks like they have changed it hears a link fordcummins.com - Increase Horsepower with Ford Cummins Diesel conversion kits

Try reading Clessie Cummins' biography written by his son, Lyle. Clessie worked with GM and Ford over the years, but the Cummins is a Cummins design.

FWIW, Clessie Cummins did play a major role in designing the Jacobs Engine Brake used in big trucks.

The book is interesting in that they include such information as the fact that they could drive a Cummins diesel powered truck from coast to coast for less than the cost of two gallons of diesel today ($6.32).
