Hey all, it's been a looong time since I've posted here!
Recently picked up an '02 Exploder XLT, 4.0l, blue with tan leather interior and a moonroof. Really nice truck for not a lot of dough.
I do have a few questions though:
1) The rear coil springs are broken and need to be replaced. Is this a common problem? Recall perhaps? If there's no recall, I'll do them myself. Anyone have suggestions on brands of springs and shocks?
2) Just noticed yesterday that the driver's side floor was wet after a heavy rain. I know this was an issue with the newer Taurus', is this a common issue with the Explorers also? If so, what's the fix?
3) The front end has a squeek when bouncing. Common problem?
noise might be sway bar rubber bushings. i had that on a Mustang, took off, put antisieze on them and reinstall. water on the floor is a problem with windshield seal on a F150 also, never heard of it on the EXP. I had coil break on rear of Taurus, again, never heard of it on the EXP. we have a 2002 with 105k miles.
I've got a 02 Explorer with 135,000 on the clock no rear spring promblems & I load it full when we travel, no leaks around the windshield, I've put right at 40,000 since I got it & just had one front wheel bearing start to make a noise so I replaced it with a Federal Modgel one that was made in the the USA.
