breaking a dt 466

just wondering, is there a way to destroy the driveline on a new style international 4300 w/ dt466 & allison trans. It is governed at around 2600 rpms. So far i have tried putting it in R while going 45, putting it in 1 at 60, going in reverse at 5 mph, putting it in neutral, flooring it and dropping it in 1. (all of these things were done on empty roads/parking lots in rural areas) However, the end result of all of these things is the truck doesnt do what i want, the only thing that happens is the "range inhibitor" light comes on and it either goes into neutral of just ignores my command totally.

I have also put the parking brake (air brakes) on, put it D and floored it until it got as high at it would go (2000 rpms) and then with the gas still to the floor put it in neutral. I expected it would suddenly rev way past the limiter and throw a rod, however, it just went to 2600 like usual and sat there.

anyone have any ideas? im just about out, and yes, i expect to quit after finshing one of these SOB's off

thanks

Yes, I could tell you how to easily nuke the engine or drive line, but, I will not. Why destroy a $50,000+ truck that does not belong to you?

Yeah, that is kinda wrong, it might even be illegal. just pee in the boss's coffee pot or something and be done with it.

wel, for those who are wondering why i would want to blow a drive line on an expensive company vehicle, heres my thought.
we get paid on commission
Many of the employees at our company work 50-60 hrs/week during the busy season, during this time they don't pay us any OT and when people have asked they say they dont pay ot. this is a $80million/yr company with plants in a dozen or so states arcoss the US.
During the slow time of the year they send us on runs to places that call in, from what i have experienced, a good percent of these calls take about a half hour or more each way, for a very small sale and little commision, all this does is force our hourly wage down to minimum wage.
Also, all of the trucks have reefers on them because we haul refrigerated products. these constantly cause problems for us and cause us to have to go back to the plant to get another truck because they break down, and even HEAT the back of the truck to 80 degrees when it is really supposed to be around 0, mainly because they are very old and have plenty of hours on them
Because of this running the trucks hard/abusing them seems to be a company pass time. I know people who have broken the air brake p-brake **** from punching it. On a couple of the older trucks the plastic covering on the gauge cluster has large holes in it, posibly from being punched. On one of the trucks w/ hydraulic brakes, people routinly drive off with the p-brake on, mostly by mistake, and dont release it until they see/smell smoke. A couple months ago me and a couple other guys had to take on of the company's pickups out to do somthing. I kept hearing somthing rolling around the bed so i looked back there. There was a soild steel shaft about 2 inches thick that looks to have been snapped im guessing it was park of an axle shaft or a trans input shaft from one of the 4300's

So, the way i see it, nuking a driveline would be a totally unheard of idea, just a step or 2 up from what everyone currently does

btw. i aint a lawyer or anything but i would think that taking a leak in the coffee would get ya in more legal trouble than " accidently over revving" a truck

I'm no lawyer either, but I think that posting on the internet your intent to destroy company property could get you into plenty of trouble .

Doesn't matter if your company pays OT or not. You just don't wreck other people's stuff. How would you like it if you lent your truck to somebody you "trusted" and got it back with the parking brake smoked out? Or the dash punched in?

And don't pee in the coffee, your fellow peons drink it too.

Don't wreck the truck, dont wreck your job. Atleast you are getting paid, some people are not ---meaning they are laid off or cant get hired in a company. Wrecking equipment is illegal ILLEGAL. Not Good.

I am not a lawyer but I went to school with some. Feel very lucky I am not your boss. If I caught you doing this here are the charges you would be facing

1: Destruction of private property
2: attempted destruction of private property
3: attempted grand theft
4: If you actually did manage to destroy a $50,000 vehicle then add grand theft

If you hate your job that bad then quit and find another job. As stated at least you are making money right now there are many people who are not making any money due to illegals and foreign work visas.

Don't like your job, quit. Of course this is probably the best you'll ever do from your mentality/work ethic.

You sound like the white trash that I deal with on a daily basis at work. You think someone owes you something for nothing. You're a drag on society and a fairly large reason why this country is on the wrong track.

So go blah, blah, blah, to some other forum on how the man is holding you down. I guess the rest of us will just end up paying your disability check while you mainline heroine in your double wide.

Damaging something out of frustration or anger is a lot different then trying to destroy something on purpose just for the hell of it. How about if a person you knew was doing some work for you, and needed to borrow your truck, then proceeds grinds it into every gear purposely, winds it all the way out and holds it against the rev limiter before shifting, and finally going down the highway at 60 he pops it in 1st blows the engine, and has the truck towed to your house and he never talks to you again. How would you like that? I mean hell, if you can do it to your boss, why couldn't he do it to you!

just a step or 2 up from what everyone currently does
so would growing up, or quiting
no ones forcing you to work there.

If i was your boss and found this out, I'd find a way to make your life miserable
