Another Leveling kit question....

So, I'm looking for a leveling kit for my truck. An 08 150 Scab 4x4.
I've looked through a lot of the other threads but I'm still a little confused about which kit I should get.

I've seen the full spring replacement, the coil spacers, coil spacers with the rear add-a-leafs, and everything else.

All I'm looking for is a nice and level truck. I don't want it to look like it sags in the rear, and I don't want to lift the truck too much. Just a simple kit that will help the headlights point up and also my the truck look good.

So, between everyone here who has one, and even if you don't...what kind of a set-up would you get? Which one is more durable, which one has a proper stance, and which one do you guys like the best?

That's just about what I'm looking for.
How has it held up for you so far?
Have you noticed any change in steering or anything at all?

I've got a 2.5" kit from NCD customs. It mounts on top of the strut. Very easy to install, and I have not had any problems with it so far.

I was originally waiting until I got the 35's as well....but I'll be traveling to the states to buy them for about $1200 cheaper than in Canada.
Even after buying gas and the long drive ahead...it will still be cheaper.

I just don't want to rear to sag. I've seen enough leveling and lift kits where the rear sags. It looks cheap...I just want a nice stance.

I got the autospring kit off ebay for $79.95 shipped and i've be happy with it. I got the 1.5" kit because I wanted the rear to be a little higher then the front for when I weigh the back down, but I got 2" of lift from it. I had 3" of difference between the front/rear so the back is still 1" higher. After you install any type of front lift you will need to get the front end realigned.

My Boss actually buys all of his tires down in Montana.
His last set was 35" Mickey Thompson Baja Claw's. He saved $1200 on the tires alone.
And I'm not too sure what i will be buying, but I'll be looking soon.

I love my 2.5" Autosprings kit. But my Truck is perfectly level with an empty tank. It's about 1/4 to 1/2 butt heavy when the gas tank is full (30 gallon).

I suggest you get a 2" kit. I prefer Autosprings, but honestly everybodies kit is exactly the same.

You could also get the 2.5" spacer, and then get the Autosprings 3" block (or 1.5" AAL setup). Your truck gains about 3" of overall height, but the rear is still about 1" taller overall

I think I'm going to stick with the 2" kit.
It does sound like exactly what i need.

Now I just need to get my rims, tires, and fender flares.

I got my 2.5" Autospring kit off ebay for $65 shipped. I'm loving it, really gives the truck a whole new look, especially when you throw bigger tires and custom wheels on with it. It sits perfectly level for me, all though i'm still thinking about getting a 3" block to replace the 2" block in the rear for when i tow or haul. I wouldnt bother with the Add A Leaf's though, they stiffen up your ride quite a bit, where as replacing the block wont change the ride at all.

I have the 3 inch Hell Bent Steel and Pro Comp Add A Leaf. I love it. I bought it off ebay the seller was Fat Bobs Garage. I saw the kit that had it but I found it cheaper to buy seperate on EBay cause one was free shipping and the other was cheaper. Makes my truck really look nice now. Wow how much are tires there in canada. I bought 33/12.50/17 Mickey Thompson Baja MTZ on classic II rims for 1500 from ohio which was 600 cheaper than michigan. I would go with the 3 inch and add a leaf. Cost me 180 shipped and took me 2 hours each side for the leveling kit and a hour and a half each side for the add a leaf. Get a front end allignment to when done. O and the cv angles are on a good angle but not much worse than the 2.5 so I would spend the extra 20 and get 3 inch.

Hello all!!!

I was just about to write a similar topic!

Anyways, I was also wondering if a front spring leveling kit from ebay is OK to do on my 2005 FX4.

Also can I just go up one or two tire sizes from stock?
Also, is there any problem with engine/trans computer stuff when adding a few more inches to your tire sizes???
That would be the major question I have.
