i don't see the problem with it. mazda is a ford affiliate. i think the car might have been quicker with the factory rotary engine though. wouldn't be a swap in my to-do list.
Mazda is no more domestic then a honda or toyota, it doesnt matter if they are affiliated with ford or not. Gotta stick to your guns man, and be a blind ford guy, no exceptions!
As for the quickness of it, you would be surprised how much more jam a 302 has, stuffed in a little car like that. The rotary engine probably only produced half the horsepower. The little bit of extra weight of the 302 would just help the traction
in 1993 my pop went 1/4 ton truck shopping... settled on a mazda B3000, wouldn't touch the ranger to save his soul. first time he goes to change the oil, he finds a Motocraft filter. oh crap. he calls up the dealer and asks whats up with this??? they tell them the story about ford/mazda... worried pop, but that was an awesome little truck. never let him down. i'll like mazda's as long as they're affiliated with ford.
not sure, but does Ford still own parts of jaguar??
So what is it, about having a company affliated with another company that would make you pick your purchase, over lets say a different brand, like toyota, nissan, etc.? What if ford lost its 30 some percent (which is barely 1/3rd of a japanese company) of mazda? Would it all of a sudden be a crappy brand of vehicle?
What if ford had a share of a chinese car company? Would they all of a sudden be "the best" cause ford had shares in them?
Im really trying to get my hands around this foolish concept, and I just dont get it.
I guess i base all my judgements and opinions on facts, and personal testing of myself and other people that I know personally, not blind loyalty (the same kind of blind loyalty seen in the hitler days, and im sure we can agree that wasnt a good loyalty).
I do believe ford had to sell jaguar, so they are no longer a "quality" vehicle hey? lol
I cant help but comment on this stuff fellas, its pretty funny to me.
