ok, the reverse sensors in wifeys x-cursion quit working. wierd thing is the "off" light on the button stays lit all of the time. i press it in and it never goes off. the reverse alarms dont sound at all now. what could it be? i have checked fuses that i know of, but what else could it be? all help appreciated. thanks!!
Look under Group 4 #13 Instrumentation & Warning Systems, then Section 413-13 Parking Aid. Pinpoint test B will give you an idea of some of the wires to check.
You can also use this link to look up torque specs and all sorts of other good info.
Patti backed into something and you have a damaged wire, or the stupid switch went bad.
I had to look twice at your reply Brandon. My wife, Patti, backed over a push lawnmower earlier in her 04 150 lariat (with reverse sensors) earlier today. If you wouldn't have said or the stupid switch went bad, I was going to start looking out my windows.
LOL!!! she actaully did back (roll) into my truck!!! dented my front bumper and did nothing to hers!! so i actually need a new front bumper, so if yall have any ideas where i can get one of those please let me know. just a standard chrome bumper for a superduty would be fine.
the reverse sensors still worked after that for a while and then one day just quit? where would i get a new switch? ford only? i say that sounds likely as the light has just defaulted to being illuminated all of the time. i hope to get to torque the injectors and rocker pedastals this weekend. i am very excited about the potential difference in the engine sound!!
thanks brandon, i'll check it out!! by the way i re-torqued the injectors and rocker arm pedestals today!!! WOW!!! What a difference in sound!! i guess i was due with 200K on the clock. SO much smoother now. almost sounds like an '03!!!!!!! Thanks to Charis for advising to do this!!!
Don't thank me. I was just passing on Dan's advice, but after hearing the difference it made in my engine, and apparently yours too, I do my best to convince everyone to do this.
I have revisited this thread because I have yet to fix my wife's parking aid sensor problem. But she is giving me those little hints that it needs to be done. I cannot access the web sites that have been posted. It says I don't have permission to access the page and wants me to log in twice a day. I can't re-find the thread I had thought I read about testing the sensors. There was some sort of test to determine if each sensor was bad. I forget how many Ohms you should read across the wires. I will check to see if Autozone's code reader will troubleshoot, but I doubt it. The reader I have seen mentioned here is probably the only one and I don't know if I can afford it. I have to see what it is first.
If any of you have found any other information about this I would appreciate your reply.
