I just traded my 95 Ranger for a F350 Crew Cab with 7.3 Powerstroke. This is my first diesel. 3 days ago I had my water in fuel light came on. I was told that there is valve to drain the water out. Is this true??? If yes where is it? Hope u can help me.
sure is, it is a yellow lever on the back of the engine mounted fuel filter. put a catch pan under the motor and open the valve and you will here the liquid flowing out of the valve then close it after a few seconds. the engine mouted fuel filter will be under a small plastic cover in teh middle of the engine, just stand on the bumper and look down at it and around it you will see the yellow lever
Welcome to FTE. As the others have stated, just rotate the yellow lever clockwise 1/4 turn to drain the water out. Close it back up and you should be fine.
We do have a section here dedicated to the 7.3 motor located a little further down the main forum listing. Spend some time reading there, and don't be afraid to ask any questions. You'll soon know more about this motor than you ever dreamed of.
