AC / 4x4 issue

This past Saturday I used 4 wheel drive backing my camper up a hill in a field. My 4 wheel drive disengaged and I drove home about 20 miles without the camper. The next day I drove about a mile and the front end was popping from the hubs. Put it in the garage to check them and found I had a bad wheel bearing on the passenger side. I ended up replacing both but now I have another problem. My AC is going from the vents to defrost while accelerating. Any ideas?

Vacuum leak? The diverter doors in the a/c and heat system run off vacuum, and under acceleration you have less engine vacuum. This vacuum shouldn't have anything to do with the hub vacuum, it comes from another source.

Get a can of starting fluid or WD40, with the engine running spray around the vacuum hoses in the engine bay.

I think I figured it out. I pulled the vacuum lines that run to a large black box behind the battery and connected them directly to the line that runs into the vehicle. The AC worked as it should. After checking the lines I found that when I disconnected and capped the ones that run to the hubs my AC also worked fine. I took the top off the unit that runs to the hubs and found what looks like a filter inside. It almost fell apart in my hands because it was rotted. I assume I need to replace the unit that runs to my hubs. My 4 wheel drive is no longer working. Does anyone know what this part is called? Thanks in advance.

IMO, loose the ESOF hubs and install some nice manual Mile Marker or Warn hubs. You will be eliminating the vacuum auto hub feature, but you will never have to wonder if your hubs are engaged or not.
