Mowing the yard

I cut my grass last night and remembered that my first cut was in March and I'm still cutting. Darn grass is still growing. Plus I have to put down winter fescue in the back yard otherwise the three dogs will be bringing in dead grass and mud the whole fall winter season. The fescue looks pretty good and last until May.

Anyone else getting tired of yard work? Anyone still doing yard work?

We do yard work all year long here in Orlando. Luckily though I am working out of town and my wife does it all during the week.

I live in a rental house with a yard the approximate size of a postage stamp.

We mow it. (Well, she more than me. ) Other than that, we don't care much.

I have a quarter acre and two daughters so yeah I have to do it all. My dad was lucky he had three sons and we had a push mower. We begged him for a riding tractor but he just said take turns when you get tired. What do I have? a frickin push mower.....

We haven't had rain in over a month. I'd love to be able to mow the lawn...

Oddly enuff I sorta look fwd to it. I'm just getting back to being physically able to do things around the yard after so long of not being able to. I outdo the wife now and she calls it off if she can't keep up. Maybe next spring or even this fall some of our plans will get rolling. I'd like to split up some plants that need it and remove some little bushes that just keep growing outward from dropped seeds.

I hate yard work with a passion!
Although. . . until last Saturday, I hadn't mowed the lawn in a month.

My lawn kinda/sorta looks like the pictures from Mars. Red clay and barren.
Well . . there are a couple of patches of green. I just wish that 'green' was money!

Another problem is we have a sprinkler systems and my wife turns it on with out my permission. Like she would ask anyway. I tell her not to water unless she wants to mow too...Doesn't work.

My yard has kinda quit growing by now. Thank goodness cause my ol case 446 has a hydraulic problem and it was starting to take quite awhile to mow the lawn!

If I can get my 446 fixed before the snow falls I would like to mow it once more though, keep things nice and short.

We got alot of rain begining of the summer it felt like every other day I was mowing the lawn. Now its so hot the grass looks terrible, don't even bother mowing as much as I did.

Last year I cut my lawn twice due to the drought. This year I'm cutting it twice a week. The skies seem to know when I shut down the mower and dumps about 2" of rain within a day of me cutting. Just across town some areas haven't had substantial rain in weeks.

Here in Illinois, the grass has not died or even slowed down this year. I have cut it once a week since april, and still growing strong now in september. Usually gets hot and dry in july/august every summer, but not this year, plenty of rain and hasn't been real hot. at this rate I will be cutting grass until november!!

Constantly mowing. But, I make it fun by setting up a slalom course around the flags marking the under ground fence, going around the dog toys and moving vehicles and trailers.
