Ford's Inventory Locator

I'm looking for an FX4 extended cab flare side with 20"'s. My local ford dealer would NOT check on the availability of the above 08' model/options. So I walked out. What's with these dealers? I probably would have called the dealer on the above listed truck if my local dealer found one via their inventory locator system but still, maybe the truck in question was nearby. And in so being we could have worked on a deal. NOT now. His arrogance was not for me. I know things are not good in their world but his conduct was anything but professional. It's too bad Ford doesn't allow open access to the locator system. I can't see how it would hurt sales or business.

You can search invetory, go to www.fordvehices.com and click the search inventory option, then enter zip code and search all the dealers in your area. You can search in your state only, by entering different zip codes and getting different areas then go from there.

Built has a good idea. I definately wouldn't be buying from those clowns. Some dealers just act like that. My parents live in Albuquerque, NM and found a few dealers like that about 15 yrs. ago, I have bought from my dealer in Michigan ever since. As a matter of fact, we have had several family members and friends from NM,CO, and TX by here because they can get what they want. Not what the dealers want to sell you.

If you want to search out of state, close out of the fordvehicles inventory search and open a new one. Enter in a zip code from the state your interested in, then you can see what's available there.

Figure it this way, you just saved yourself tons of agrivation by learning the true colors of that dealership.

Where are you located Artsbest? I know a few good dealers in the NH area, if this helps you.

I reside in Northern IL. I hear what you are all saying regarding the zip code locator thing but the truck I'm looking for is an anomaly. The flare side model is in the minority of F-150 builds. I've done some zip code hunting outside of my state with no luck. I'm trying another Ford dealer tomorrow. But it would be a whole lot easier if the locator system was available to all of we consumers IMHO. Maybe just maybe this truck is out there. If so, I'll drive wherever to buy it. I'm not going to wait for the new 09's. I think Ford is 100% wrong in delaying their release. But what do I know? THANKS everyone for your input. MUCH appreciated.

I did a quick search here in my area. Looks like quite a few STX's but no FX4's. You don't see many flaresides down here at all for some reason. Personally I just don't care for the latest flareside look, most of the flaresides in the past have been ok though. Anyway best of luck, I'm sure if the right person knows you're looking, you'll find one.

I found mine on the ford website inventory locator. I went into the dealership with the stock number and they transfered the truck no problem. I think I looked at every dealership in Houston.

Many dealers only want to sell you what they have. Will order if they don't have it. It costs them money to go out and get the truck, many will not trade with each other either, it is just a sales war.
They old style ones, always think they can change your mind ,if the price is right. Then they wonder why, they have lost over one million sales a year,in the past 8 years !!

Yeah it's a pretty brutal doggy-dog auto world for sure. Wonder where it's all going to end don't you?

Check 76522. I think Automax Ford might have what you are looking for. I think I had seen one like what you are describing their awhile ago. Being as my truck has been in the shop for a month I haven't had the need to go by their again. Good Luck

What is the dealers name in Hawaii? I've been told there are a few on our mainland here in the US. Matter of fact, one is 300 miles from me in Michigan. I'm going to contact them tomorrow.

Tylus: Thanks much but there are two problems with this location. I can't swim that far nor can the truck. One heck of a nice gesture on your part though. And I thank you sincerely. There are two of these models/options about 300M from me in Michigan. I'm calling tomorrow.
