Had it since new w/150k on it.Not sure if I'll buy another Ford product again. It was a nice car except for the wheel bearing repairs and rear end whine and some othe issues with it.Wanted keep it for at least another 4 or 5 years since my Big Bronco is not doing so hot and gas prices and buy her something smaller.
My wife's 1997 XLT got totaled a few weeks back as well! It was that beatiful Portofino Blue! We were T'boned while sitting at a dead stop at a stop sign. Had it since new and was the BEST car I ever owned. NO PROBLEMS and it had 197K on it! Luckily, no injuries, hope you faired as well.
Searched all over the US and found another almost dead identical to it with only 65K true, verified actual miles on it. The wife did not want a new XLT, she wanted one like hers back.....so, I got it for her. It has the low speed, ABS false kick in issue, but I will check out sensors, wires, etc and hopefully it will go to 197K like her original!
My wife totaled a Beautiful 06 Explorer Limited, in Dec of 06, you really don't want to hear the ramifications of that one. She's now driving a brand new Expedition EL, and frankly, that one's not big enough But I do hope your wife fairs well.............
full recovery will never happen- the Medical community is at a loss in dealing with TBI-personally, I'm at a loss with loosing a 17 year old daughter.........
