A year ago, I had to replace the vacuum solenoid so I could get control over the HVAC system. A month ago or so, I had to replace the vacuum pump. Now, it seems as if the vacuum reservoir has sprung a leak.
The pump stays on all the time. I plugged the red line at the solenoid, pump still runs. Pulled the mickey mouse shaped plug off the reservoir and plugged the input side. Pump stops running. Put the plug on the reservoir sideways so the out put plug was not connected; plugged the output side and the pump continues to run. Would seem to indicate that the reservoir itself is leaking.
So... anyone figured out how to remove this item? How much is a replacement one? Any harm in ignoring it and just letting the pump run? I'm getting pretty peaved at the repair costs just to keep HVAC working properly.....
