You had to say it didn't you. I shot a nice doe last night, I hit her a little high so I thought I would wait till this morning and go retrieve her. Found her fairly easily. I'm in the middle of cleaning out the chest cavity and my phone goes off. I let it go until I'm done, about 5 minutes later. Call the wife back to see what she wanted, she says "I'm just down the road 2 bucks ran out in front of me, I hit them both". So I made sure she was OK, told her to call the police and I would be there in a few. I get my doe hanging in the barn head up the road to find a nice 5 point buck in a front yard on one side of the road and spike on the other. The sheriff had to shoot the spike, to put him out of his misery. Now there are 3 deer hanging in the barn, the Explorer is taken to the body shop and the preliminery estimate is $4000.
Here are a couple pictures. first one is the Explorer after the bucks ran out in front. Second is what I did to them, along with the doe I shot the night before. So far I figure the meat is up to about $20 per pound.
I'm lovin the carbon arrows. I shoot carbon express 350 max., and just put on the Rage 3 blade mechanical broadhead. Very impressive broadhead. I shot a little high on the doe I shot, clipped the top of both lungs and the bottom of the spine. I figured the arrow would drop about an inch or so at 30 yards the frickin thing flew flat as could be. It really does fly like a field tip.
I'm surprised john isn't in here on this convo. He's a sponsored archer.
I shoot a PSE FireFly. Dual wheels. You can't even feel the release it is so smooth. I can't wait to try out the carbon arrows on it. Can't remember what we got them for, but it was hella cheep.
Do you have to tune that bow alot? I have heard great things about that bow, and have even had a chance to shoot the hel;l out of it, Love that bow, but I have heard you have to tune that thing almost constantly?
