another 5 speed trans question
is there a gasket that needs to go on the bell housing? napa didnt have one so now im confused. also could i just get away with rtv being it doesnt come in contact with the atf? if it does need a gasket i guess i would need to go to ford because napa doesnt have crap.

A 5 speed as in a Mazda or ZF?
Some models have used a steel block protector plate behind the flywheel that is held by the bell to the block.
There is no reason to have a gasket or rtv between the block and bell for either a manual or automatic trans.
There should be no oil/atf/anything inside the bell except the clutch (or TC for automatic) and associated parts.
