Newbie here...first post

I've read a bit of the posts etc and eventually I will be sharing some pics etc. But until then I need to pick some brain powers. I just purchased a 65 F100. It has a 300 6 cylinder and it is a Short Bed truck. I'm looking forward to the fun and pleasure of the truck. I have some plans for it long term but right now it runs pretty good and needs an interior and sun visors.

I'd also liked to get an original rear bumper and original hubcaps, any ideas or sources?

First & foremost welcome aboard Double K, Too kinda answer part of your question; I would recommend check out some of our site sponsor for free catalog's and see main types of bumper avaible for 65 model. The hardest part to find in my opinion for rear bumpers are the brackets to hold on the smooth type white or chrome bumpers. Check & Search previous post as well as ebay for parts.
Again welcome aboard and looking forward to talking to ya again.
I got a 65 in my gallery your welcome to check out
Mitch

Hi CC, appreciate the welcome and reply. I like your Black & White. Very nice. I will take a look at the sponsors but after reviewing places like LMC, I can not find a place for correct hub caps...but I'll keep looking.

If you are anyone else come across some, please let me know.

This is great, another Ford truck enthusiast, as with customcab, want to welcome you to FTE. Also have the 65 F100 a 'flareside' short bed, and another, 'styleside' with the long bed, or lwb. Acquired quite a few parts thru the local salvage yrds but those finds are getting far and few between. Ebay is another source but need to do some research there are sellers who are not familiar with the 61-66 Ford truck and can list items incorrectly. There is also the local NAPA auto parts store. Suggest going online to a few of the Ford parts suppliers and order a catalog, majority offer them free. As you are probably aware, nothing more energizing that takin in a Classic Auto Swap Meet, talk about vintage car and truck enthusiast, and sometimes one can get extremely lucky. Again, welcome and looking forware to further post and pic's.

Used or pricey NOS are your only choices on the hubcaps.
Sunvisors are available repro in a couple varieties.
I'd look for a used bumper with the brackets. If you don't have the brackets (and thus, a bumper) it's probably more cost effective to buy one complete.

ahh for a bumper... you could "redneck it" is what i like to call it... and a bit easier to find...but a chevy van bumper SORT of fits these trucks of ours... some day i will post the picture of it in my galery... but IE closes everytime i tried last week so yeah... mine is just temporarly held in with 2 U bolts and a single regular bolt...but eventually i will get some holes drilled or make some brakets similar to the original... "ponders for a moment..." think i will try that tomarow...

1961/66 stainless steel hubcaps.

Welcome to FTE

One style of the F100 stainless steel (Custom Cab) hubcaps have been reproduced. These are the type known as "bottlecaps" or "innies."

Fit: 1961/66 F100. **

These caps fit into the inside of the wheel center, either held by clips riveted into the wheel or by tabs on the inside of the wheel.

These caps are 9 1/2" in diameter, and have the block letters F O R D thru the center.

The outside of the cap has 12 of these \_/ around the edge of the cap.

In June, just before the Western Nationals Truck Show held in Yorba Linda CA, Don (FTE member=camperspecial65) and myself were visiting "The Truck Shop" in Orange CA. (truckandcarshop.com).

There they were...on display. I dunno who's actually reproducing them, but they are pictured in this companies catalog on page 114, column right, top.

Their part number is: 61-25013 / $105.00 for a set of 4.
------------------------------------------------------
** The other style of hubcaps (not reproduced yet) are known as outies, because they snap on over raised tabs on the outside of the wheel center.

These outie caps are 10 1/4" in diameter, and are the exact same caps as used on 1964 Galaxies.

For an example of what these caps look like, see Mitch's (customcab) Black & White truck which is in his gallery.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The Styleside bed's contoured rear bumper (contoured=the center is dished in) came either painted or chrome (it was an option either way).

The same bumper & the brackets fit 1964/66 F100/250's & 1967/72 F100/350 Styleside Pickups.

This same Styleside bumper was also used on 1973/76 F250 Regular & Crew Cab 4WD's aka a "High Boy."

While the bumper is the same as 1964/72's, the 1973/76 brackets are not the same.

As Bill says the truck shop in Orange has them. I looked them over in the catalouge i picked up. Nice Stainless steel units. and for 105 bucks.... holy cow....I have paid that in the past for decent painted ones.

I plan to pick up a set for the uni when i go back out to SoCal later this month.

yes indeed, those caps at the The Truck Shop are very good looking indeed...I just wish they were available for a 3/4 ton though...but again, they do look good but didnt get my hands on one to judge weight and quality of the stampings and assembly...Im picky about that kind of stuff as Bill can atest to. But on the wall 2 feet from me...super pretty.....

My wife calls this computer of mine, my square headed girl friend. And as with any girlfriend, it's nice when you get what you need! Thanks for the help all. I went ahead and ordered a set of caps and I'll study the bumper bracket situation. I'll get some pics posted shortly.

The Truck Shop, 808 Nicholas Avenue, Orange CA 92868 / 9-5 M/F / 9-4 Saturday (truckandcarshop.com): 800-243-8947.

You didn't know about the Truck Shop carrying the caps. LOL! I had never even heard of this place before, and I live only 15 miles away.

On the Thursday prior to the Western Nats (held 6/21 in Yorba Linda CA), I drove Aussie53, his brother and Don (camperspecial65), around to several Ford obsolete stores in the area, and one of them told us about this new place.

It originally sold (gasp) Chevy parts, but added Ford car/truck parts just recently.
