Fellas,
I just picked up a new (to me) 2002 Supercrew out of Texas. Great truck. One item that I noticed is that the rear window (slider) looks to not have a seal around the window frame on the outside. Also, the seal inside looks kinda crappy. I now have looked at about a dozen other trucks and about half of them have a rubber seal (which makes the window look a lot better) around the window, and half have the crappy look like mine does.
Also, the seal inside almost looks like it rolled in upon installation. The windows that I could see without the outer seal have this look also.
Does my description make sense? Has anybody else noticed this? What gives?
the part you are looking at is really not the seal. ther glass window has a bytle rope 3/8 diameter seal smashed aginst it and the truck body. held in by a dozen small bolts. after the window is installed, the rear plastic trim is installed over it. you are just seeing the trim and rubber boot, not the widow seal. there is a photo on here somewhere if we can find it. in short, if the window dont leak, you dont have a problem. if it does leak, you need $20 and a couple hours work.
